SUMMARY

In the sub-project S5, the potential of sub-THz-sensors for the non-invasive determination of the water content in plants will be evaluated. For that purpose we will build two sensor systems operating at different frequencies. Both devices will be transferred to our project partners in the crops group. The project partners will perform measurements on barley to identify characteristic measurands which may serve for developing optimized irrigation schemes.

SENSOR

Integrated measuring system consisting of a sub thz sender and receiver and a rotation stage on which the plant is placed for performing measurement

The senders and receivers for each of the two working frequencies are facing each other. The plant is placed in the crossing point of the two sub thz beams.
